Empowering Through Philanthropy: Women’s Giving Circle Awards Grants
The Women’s Giving Circle announced grant awards totaling $41,950 to 10 organizations during a recognition event held today at the Challenger Learning Center.
The Women’s Giving Circle, an initiative of the Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley, seeks to empower through philanthropy by making strategic, researched-based grants supporting projects serving women and girls.
Grants were awarded to the following organizations:

Oglebay Foundation | LPGA*USGA Girls Golf Program at Oglebay – offering a girl-friendly environment for girls to learn the game of golf along with confidence and perseverance | $2,500 |
Oglebay Institute | Tuition assistance for girls to attend OI Summer Camps | $2,500 |
SMART Center | Support for GEMS Camp – Girls Enjoying Math and Science | $2,475 |
The Greater Wheeling Coalition for the Homeless, Inc. | Female Empowerment Program – supporting women as they work toward independence | $5,000 |
Wheeling Health Right, Inc. | FARMacy – Access to fresh, organic produce for female patients managing chronic illness | $4,250 |
WVNCC Foundation | Emergency Assistance for Female Students | $2,500 |
YWCA – Wheeling | Judy’s Place: Moving Beyond a Violent Home – upgrades to transitional home in New Martinsville | $3,475 |
YWCA – Wheeling | Youth Empowerment Program – teaching emotional intelligence, assertive self-expression and healthy relationships | $5,000 |
Youth Services System, Inc. | Healing and support for young women in transitional living program | $5,000 |
