West Virginia

Bessie Anderson School of Education Honors Scholarship  A four-year scholarship at West Liberty State College awarded to an incoming freshman with a minimum high school GPA of 3.5.  Must be a declared Education major.  Funded by the Miller Family Fund of the Community Foundation.  Award varies.  Contact the West Liberty Financial Aid Office for more information.

Beulah Meyer Scholarship Fund  For graduating seniors of Weir High School and Weirton Madonna who have resided in Weirton, WV at least four years prior to graduation.  Award varies and is renewable.

Bradley Miller Jr. Memorial Scholarship 
For a graduating senior of John Marshall High School.  Award is $1,000 and will not be awarded until the second college semester.  Contact the associated school guidance office for application.

Carl Rollyn “Pop” & Grace B. Sullivan Scholarship  For at least one graduating senior from Ritchie County High School, ranking in the upper 50% of graduating class and scoring in the upper 50% on college entrance exams with intention to pursue a 2 or 4 year college degree.  Award is $500.  Contact the associated school guidance office for application.

Central Catholic High School Scholarship  For students at Wheeling Central Catholic High School for tuition at Wheeling Central Catholic High School.  Award varies.  Contact the associated school guidance office for application.

Frances S. & Stephen E. Pritchard Scholarship  For a graduating senior from Tyler Consolidated High School who has shown the most academic progress during his/her high school career, who has been accepted and plans to attend a two- or four-year college or university, and who has not been the recipient of another scholarship or a previous scholarship from this fund.  Award varies.  Contact the associated school guidance office for application. 

Fraternal Order of Police Association Scholarship  For graduating seniors of Ohio County who have a parent or legal guardian who is a Wheeling Police Officer, Ohio County Sheriff’s Deputy, or WV State Trooper.  Award is $500.  Please use the Community Foundation scholarship application.

Gene DeProsperis Scholarship  For students from Wheeling Central Catholic High School who have been active in multiple sports and will attend West Liberty State College.  Award is $500.  Contact the associated school guidance office for application.

Glenda K. Follett Memorial Scholarship  For a graduating senior from Valley High School wishing to pursue a degree in teaching.  Award is $1,000.  Contact the associated school guidance office for application.

Helen Biery Memorial Scholarship  For students who have graduated from an Ohio County high school and are enrolled in an accredited program providing education and training in nursing or related medical care profession.  Award is $500.  Please use the Community Foundation scholarship application.

Jack & Mary Burgbacher Carpenter Scholarship  For a graduating senior of Tyler Consolidated High School wishing to pursue a degree in science or engineering.  Award varies.  Contact the associated school guidance office for application.

John & Becky Wright First Generation Scholarship  For a graduating senior at Tyler Consolidated High School who has been accepted and plans to attend a post-secondary school and who also represents the first generation to attend college in his/her family.  Award is $1,000.  Contact the associated school guidance office for application.

John Marshall High School Scholarship  For John Marshall High School students.Selection is made based on financial need, academic achievement, and school and/or community service.  Award varies.  Contact the associated school guidance office for application.

Kathleen Simmons Batalion Memorial Scholarship  For graduating seniors from Tyler Consolidated High School who plan to pursue a degree in nursing education.  Award is $1,500 and is awarded for the student’s sophomore year.  Contact the associated school guidance office for application.

Leora & Mildred Larue Memorial Scholarship  Teaching scholarships for qualifying Preston County students attending Fairmont State College or West Virginia University.  Award varies.  Contact the associated school guidance office for application.

Lisa Cockayne Memorial ScholarshipFor a graduating senior of John Marshall High School who has achieved academic progress for the pursuit of higher education at a college, university, or technical college.  Award is $3,000.  Contact the associated school guidance office for application.

Mike G. Dotson Scholarship  For a graduating senior of Tyler Consolidated High School pursuing a degree in athletic training, coaching, sports medicine, physical education, or related field.  Award is $500.  Contact the associated school guidance office for application.

MTJ Scholarship  For graduating seniors from Wheeling Park High School.  Award varies.  Contact the associated school guidance office for application.

N. Elizabeth Elbin Memorial Scholarship  Four scholarships awarded annually to worthy and deserving graduates of Cameron High School.  Award is $1,250 per year and is renewable for a maximum award of $5,000.  Contact the associated school guidance office for application.

Pat Clutter Memorial Scholarship  The Pat Clutter Memorial Scholarship is for Wheeling Park High School graduating seniors who wish to pursue a degree in communications.  Award varies.  Contact the associated school guidance office for application.

Pat Johnson Memorial Scholarship  For Wheeling Central Catholic High School graduating seniors who plan to attend West Virginia University and major in engineering. Contact the associated school guidance office for application.

Ruth B. & William L. Gilligan Scholarship  For graduating seniors from Tyler County based upon need, motivation, probability of completion of college degree, and essay.  Award is $500.  Contact the associated school guidance office for application.

Sylvia Archer Scholarship  For a Tyler County student who demonstrates a need for financial assistance, maintained a minimum 2.81 GPA, plans to attend a four-year college or university and has never been suspended from school.  Award is $1,000.  Contact the associated school guidance office for application.

The Joy Cox Nursing Memorial Scholarship  A scholarship for graduating seniors at Wheeling Park High School wishing to pursue a degree in nursing.  Award varies.  Contact the associated school guidance office for application.

Tyler County High School Athletic Scholarship  For one male and one female graduating senior from Tyler Consolidated High School who participated in a sports program and demonstrates financial need.  Student must intend to pursue full-time course of study.  Award is $500.  Contact the associated school guidance office for application.

Wheeling Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 12 Scholarship For students who have a parent or legal guardian who is an active firefighter in Ohio County.  Award is $500.  Please use the Community Foundation scholarship application.

West Virginia OR Ohio

AAUW Beulah Boyd Scholarship  For students who have completed 30 credit hours of college courses who reside in Ohio, Brooke, or Marshall Counties of WV or Belmont County, Ohio.  Award varies.  Contact the Wheeling AAUW Branch for application.

George Kovalick Scholarship  A wrestling scholarship for qualified students of the Ohio Valley.  NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE.

Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe GOC Scholarship  For an incoming freshman or sophomore from the Ohio Valley majoring in Business Management or Accounting or Information Technology.  Student must have a 3.5 GPA and be able to demonstrate need.  Award is $1,000.  Please use the Community Foundation scholarship application.

Polish American Political Club  For students maintaining a 3.0 grade point average, residing in Belmont County or Marshall County.  Award is $1,000.  Please use the Community Foundation scholarship application.

Upper
Ohio Valley Italian Foundation Scholarship  For graduating seniors and residents of Brooke, Hancock, Marshall, or Ohio Counties in WV or Belmont or Jefferson Counties in Ohio.  Award varies.  Contact the associated school guidance office or Upper Ohio Valley Italian Festival for application.

Rachael Worby Scholarship For students of the Upper Ohio Valley pursuing a degree in music education.  Award varies. Contact the associated school guidance office for application.

Ohio

Canfield Hugh Kinney Scholarship  For graduating seniors in the former Jewett-Scio High School region.  Award is $500.  NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE.

Ken Dennis Scholarship  For students from Martins Ferry High School planning to attend Miami University Ohio or The Ohio State University majoring in mathematics, science, or engineering.  Award varies and is renewable.  Contact the associated school guidance office for application.

Former Martins Ferry Rotary Club Scholarship For graduating seniors of Martins Ferry High School planning to attend an accredited college or university.  Award is $500.  Contact the associated school guidance office for application.

Joseph P. Mull Jr. & Virginia P. Mull Scholarship  Given to one student from St. Clairsville High School and one student from the Belmont-Harrison Joint Vocational School who aspire to a technical education or engineering degree.  Award is $500.  Contact the associated school guidance office for application.

Leon Berze Memorial Scholarship  For a Buckeye Local High School graduate, continuing their education at a trade school, 2 or 4 year educational institution.  Award is $500.  Contact the associated school guidance office for application.

Richard R. Heagin Memorial Scholarship  For graduating seniors from any high school in Belmont, Jefferson, Harrison, Guernsey, Noble, or Monroe Counties of Ohio, who wish to pursue an accredited course of study that results in certification as a paramedic or a firefighter.  Award is $500.  Application available at local accredited schools and training centers.

W. Thornley Hunt Memorial Scholarship  For one boy and one girl from St. Clairsville High School based on merit.  Award is $500.  Contact the associated school guidance office for application.
