The Grants Research Committee of the Women's Giving Circle will be hosting an informational session for nonprofits interested in applying for funds during the 2016 grant cycle. The meeting will be held Wednesday, July 13 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley, located at 1310 Market St., Wheeling.

Though not mandatory, attendance at this important session will allow organizations to learn more about the application process and provide an opportunity for members of the Women's Giving Circle to learn about your projects. Grants submitted by applicant organizations must meet stated criteria of the Women's Giving Circle.

Our 1st year Civic Leaders spent the day on Friday hearing from Craig O'Leary from R.E.D. about downtown development including a tour of the Stone Center and Orrick, Allison Skibo met with us at Centre Market and talked about the summer schedule of activities and First Fridays in Wheeling followed by a lunch at River City. The afternoon started with Jake Dougherty talking to the interns at Heritage Port about Wheeling's Heritage and the importance of preservation. Meet Andrea Garrison: "I am a sophomore Athletic Training student at West Liberty University. I am a 1st year intern in the CFOV's Civic Leaders program. I have been placed at OVMC in the physical therapy center where I have been observing various forms of physical therapy, including hands on and aquatic therapy.
